Craniosacral Therapy

CST is a gentle, hands-on form of bodywork designed to monitor the cranial rhythm and encourage the body to heal itself.  By using a very light touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or the weight of a nickel.

CST addresses the inherent, gentle, rhythmic movement of the bones in the skull and their effect on the fluid that surrounds, bathes, and cushions the brain and spinal cord and runs throughout the body. Cranial bones move in miniscule amounts as a response to the production and absorption of cranial fluid.

CST enhances the function of the central nervous system, when the CNS functions well, muscles relax, circulation improves, pain and swelling decrease. When the body functions properly, food metabolism improves, the defensive immune system is better able to prevent infections and fight disease. CST does not heal or cure anything, it simply encourages the body to self-regulate and heal itself.

The beautiful cranial rhythm is made up of fluid exchanges between the arterial blood flow to the head, and the draining of the fluid back into the venous return flow.

A CST treatment session is usually about 50 minutes, or longer.  The person remains fully clothed and simply lies in a comfortable position on the table.  CST works on a profound level to support healthful changes in all the body's systems.

CST provides relief for many conditions such as; Migraine Headaches, Whiplash, Neck & Back Pain,TMJ, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Stress & Tension Related Problems. With head trauma, whiplash injury, or even severe stress, cranial bone movement can be compromised, resulting in headaches, dizziness,or ringing in the ears. This therapy restores the normal movement of the cranial bones and fluid.

Craniosacral Treatments are most often deeply relaxing. Even if you fall asleep or don't feel much of anything at first, subtle profound changes may be occurring that will help you heal overtime.
